Snow Day Fun

We hope you are all staying warm today! It can be hard to stay inside all day long, so we thought we would send out some fun activities to keep busy! Below you will find a fun snowman glyph. You answer the questions and each answer tells you how you should make your snowman look. You can draw it on paper or cut it out if you have fun paper at home. Below that you will find some subtraction error analysis pages. We first practiced this on our chapter 5 test with addition. Have fun finding the errors in these problems and show us how to correctly solve them.

Kids Science Lab Field Trip

We had so much fun visiting Kids Science Labs on Friday morning and learning about gravity! For one of our experiments, students had to create a cushion to protect an egg after it was dropped from a ladder. Our students came up with some pretty creative containers and 'mats' for their eggs to land on using foam squares, plastic cups, cotton squares, styrofoam logs, and paper scraps. Enjoy this video of one of the drops filmed in slooooooooooow motion by Mrs. Mahoney!

Here are some more pictures of our visit!

QR codes in Social Studies

Today in Social Studies we continued our study of landforms with three interactive centers. We explored a map of the globe and labeled our own with the North and South poles, Equator, and labeled the continents and oceans. In our other two centers we focused on landforms and their definitions. We used a fun QR code center that had the students searching the room for different landforms using clues from the ipad.
