2nd grade service work

"Do not think only of yourself.  Instead, think of others as more important than yourself.  Do not take care only of your own needs, but also of the needs of others." - Philippians 2:3-4

For the past week, second graders have been learning about peace and service.  The Sign of Peace that we share at Mass reminds us that Jesus wants us to love one another and to live together in peace.  As members of the Church we are called to serve one another.  As part of this unit, students spent some time today serving other classes at ICSJ.  Some students helped organize classroom libraries while others wiped down desks.  Some students even helped clean the PreK window art with soap and water.  We are grateful to all of the teachers who helped us learn this valuable lesson, and we know they are grateful for the help.
