Persuasive Writing

This week in Writer's Workshop we started a mini unit on persuasive writing. We read The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog by Moe Willems and discussed how the duckling is trying to convince the pigeon to share the hot dog with him. Students are writing their own pieces and pretending to be turkeys trying to convince their readers to eat hot dogs on Thanksgiving.
