Life Cycle of a Butterfly

We are continuing to talk about animal life cycles in Science. Yesterday we discussed how a butterfly develops. Our students noticed that while a frog does a lot of growing too, a butterfly changes form completely from a caterpillar to a butterfly. We illustrated the four stages of the butterfly's life cycle with beans and pasta — it was a lot of fun! We are looking forward to comparing and contrasting the life cycles of frogs and butterflies on Friday!
